Note: This information is intended for both Blackbird and Manta Resorts.
Fishing
Turneffe and Glover's Atolls are both known worldwide for superb flats fishing. If your goal is the grand slam of fly fishing (tarpon, permit and bonefish), you've got a great chance at either resort. Plus, offshore fishing could net you wahoo, sailfish, marlin, and more.
The Belizean barrier reef, the second largest in the world, is unspoiled, the way it ought to be. At Blackbird, in the Turneffe Island group, mangrove-lined lagoons form virgin flats that shelter schools of bonefish and occasional permit. Our veteran English-speaking guides know these waters intimately -- you'll explore remote areas that are rarely touched by other anglers.
Offshore, you'll find plenty of barracuda, jacks snapper, wahoo, and kingfish. Or, if you enjoy casual fishing, just throw a line from the dock to schools of bonefish and snapper.
Selected catches may be kept at your or your guide's discretion. Bonefish are all strictly catch-and-release.
Choose our fishing package and you'll have your own personal fishing guide (maximum two persons with guide) and boat for eight hours a day to ensure successful fishing experience. Choose to troll or drag or fly fish in the flats or from shore, or fish from our 25-foot open boat.
Since neither resort provides fishing equipment, all anglers should bring their own equipment..
Snorkeling
Snorkeling along the Belizean barrier reef is among the best in the world. Many of the reef areas are shallow and allow for easy access by snorkers.
We provide two boat trips per day to the best local snorkeling sites, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, and are included in the Snorkel/Vacation package. Stingrays, groupers, eagle rays, nurse sharks and myriads of brightly-colored reef fish highlight the reef.

Kayaking
Explore the reefs and mangrove lagoons on your own in our complimentary single and double kayaks. You'll find tie-downs at several excellent snorkeling points along the reef to secure your kayak.
