Our Belize Wildlife Safari is an eight day trip for travelers who want to see the wildlife of Belize. You will have opportunities to see howler monkeys, crocodiles, manatees, perhaps even a jaguar. Also, Belize is an excellent country for birding, with almost 600 species identified.  You will also see underwater wildlife - exotically colored fish and other marine creatures.

Your adventure starts with a boat trip up the peaceful New River, where your first opportunities for wildlife spotting start.  Crocodiles, iguanas, birds all visit the banks of the river.  The river eventually opens up to a large, uninhabited lagoon.  The only sign of civilization is your home for 3 nights - the luxurious Lamanai Outpost Lodge. While at Lamanai, you can choose from a wide variety of daily activities and excursions led by expert local Mayan guides. Choices include a nighttime spotlight safari - your best chance to see the elusive jaguar - a canoe trip around the perimiter of the tranquil lagoon, excursions to observe troops of howler monkeys in the jungle canopy, and a visit to the nearby ancient Mayan Lamanai Ruins.

After your stay at Lamanai, you'll travel back down the river, and head on to the idyllic reef resort called Robert's Grove. Here, you can relax, or participate in snorkeling, kayaking, or diving. You will also have the opportunity for some day excursions into wildlife areas.
